OPAL Play
We are proud to be a dedicated OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) school, recognising that high-quality play is essential for every child’s health, wellbeing, development, and learning.
At our school, every child benefits from daily access to our entire school site, giving them the freedom to explore, create, imagine, and challenge themselves in a rich and stimulating outdoor environment. Our extensive grounds provide a wide range of opportunities for active play, imaginative role play, problem-solving, teamwork, and developing resilience.
Through our commitment to the OPAL programme, we continually enhance our outdoor spaces and resources to ensure playtimes are engaging, inclusive, and inspiring for all children. We believe that play is a vital part of childhood and that children learn important life skills through opportunities to take appropriate risks, make choices, collaborate with others, and develop independence.
By embracing the OPAL approach, we aim to make every playtime a positive, enjoyable, and enriching experience, supporting children’s physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development while helping them to return to the classroom happy, confident, and ready to learn.
