Week 5 18.05.20

Friday 22nd May

Good morning Year 5,

Well done for your continued hard work.

Below are the tasks for Guided Reading, Maths, Science and PE that are to be completed today for your home learning. There is also a message from Mr Harris and a task for you to complete over half term.

PE

Well done to those of you who took part in the hopping challenge. I have attached the leadership board and photos below.

We will be doing a different challenge after half term.

Remember that you can access the Joe Wicks PE session on his YouTube channel. If you would like to try something different, search for Cosmic Kids on YouTube and have a go at some Yoga.

Maths
I have attached the answers to yesterday’s maths work.

For today’s session, we are going to do maths through cooking! I have attached three recipes for you to choose from (they are split into KS1, KS2 and KS3 but you can choose which one you would like to do as I know this is very dependent on which ingredients you have). Have fun!

I have also attached the Friday Challenge for you to complete. Remember the questions on the Friday Challenge are all things you have previously learnt in class – this is just an opportunity to practice these skills and keep them fresh in your mind.

Guided Reading

I have attached today’s Guided Reading text, The North Wind Doth Blow, below. The focus today is inference; I have attached the questions linked to the text below.

I have also attached the SPAG Friday Challenge for you to complete.

Topic

Continue the innovate board from yesterday.

Complete the post-learning task to show off all that you have learnt during the Allotment topic. After half term, our new topic will be Peasants, Princes and Pestilence where we will be learning all about 14th Century Britain. I have attached the pre-learning task for you to complete.

Computing
A message from Mr Harris:

Hi everyone - well done those of you (and there's lots of you!) that have been working on your coding.  Really impressed.

If you want to do more in half term then please feel free to log in and do lesson 4 - collecting treasure with Laurel.  Keep safe!

Remember that it is half term next week so there will be no home learning tasks. I hope you all have an enjoyable and relaxing break.
