Week 3 04.05.20

Friday 8th May 2020

Good Morning Year 6,

Today is VE Day and it is the 75th anniversary today! VE day marks the day the end of the war was announced! Imagine the atmosphere in the country at this time! I have added some activities that you might want to do today if you are celebrating VE day. Remember that these activities are optional, just a bit of fun.

Don't forget that if you do anything exciting, send in those pictures.

Enjoy your weekend,

Good Morning Year 6,

Last day of learning for this week as tomorrow is Bank Holiday! Now this may not be a usual bank holiday and we are having to stay at home but it is important that you get involved. Think back to our last topic, 'A Child's War' and everything that you learnt about the outbreak of war and the effect on homes and families, well Friday marks 75 years since the end of the war was announced. Imagine how fantastic that felt for people. So in addition to today's home learning, I want you to get a little bit of something prepared to decorate your garden or window or door with and enjoy the VE day spirit.

Whilst there will be no home learning on Friday, I will post VE day inspired activities for anyone wanting to get involved.

Today's home learning timetable is: Liturgy, Maths, English and RE. Follow the instructions and links on the home learning notice and use the worksheets provided for the work.

Take care,

Mrs Waring

Good Morning Year 6,

I hope you all had a lovely weekend. I am really hoping that the sun comes back this week, I am missing the sunshine!

This week is Children's Book Week where we will be focusing lots on reading! As well as the work that I have set for you this week, I would like you to send me some pictures of you reading either in funny places or reading your favourite book of the minute! I will make a new section of the home learning page and add them all together as a celebration of Y6 reading! I have added mine below! I am enjoying having a bit extra time to read!

Today's home learning timetable is: PE, Maths, English and RE. All instructions are in today's post. Maths will be slightly different from this week in that there will be a short 5 minute video that will teach you the mathematical element of the day and then you will complete the Maths sheet I have attached to this post after watching the video. This is the best way to be able to explain to you the new element of Maths. I have added the website link to each document every day but just incase here it is again.
