Friday 8th May
As today is a bank holiday, there will be no home learning for you to complete. However, I have posted some VE Day inspired activities for those of you who want to get involved.
VE Day marked the formal conclusion of the war with Germany and brought to an end six years of suffering, courage and endurance across the world. Friday 8th May marks the 75th Anniversary of VE Day.
Mansfield Distract Council are promoting a virtual VE Day party, they are producing activities for you and your family to enjoy. Visit https://www.mansfield.gov.uk/whats/virtual-ve-day/1 to find out more.

I have also attached some activities and recipes which you might like to explore with your families.
I know that our Firedamp and Davy Lamps topic has finished, but I have seen that the National Coal Mining Museum are putting things to see, learn or do every two days. The activities on the website look really interesting, so please have a look and access the virtual museum at: www.ncm.org.uk/virtualmuseum
Today, there will be a VE Day special on the NCM website where they will tell you all about the impact of WWII on the coal mines. We all know about army conscription but did you know you could be conscripted to work in the mine?
Enjoy your day and take care,
