In the dance unit of work, children will learn to practise different sections of a dance aiming to put together a performance, perform using facial expressions and perform with a prop.

During this topic, children will learn to modify actions independently using different pathways, directions and shapes. They will consolidate and improve the quality of movements and gymnastics actions. Children will be able to relate strength and flexibility to the actions and movements they are performing and will use basic compositional ideas to improve sequence work and in unison.

In this unit, children will learn to work with others to solve problems, describe their work and use different strategies to solve problems, to lead others and be led and differentiate between when as task is competitive and collaborative.

During this unit of work, children will handle a rugby with confidence, evade attackers using footwork and body control, link skills to perform as a team in attack and use basic principles of tag rugby and play with simpler rules.
