Pentecost Term Two- Striking and Fielding

Striking and Fielding 


In this PE unit, children will use a variety of resources, such as bean bags, balls and markers. They will concentrate on all the skills that will be required for games. They will learn a range of throwing and rolling skills, including catching different objects. 

Pentecost Term One- Athletics



In this unit, children begin to link running and jumping. They also learning throwing techniques to throw over longer distances. They will use a variety of different resources, such as javelins and quoits. 

Lent Term Two- Forest Schools

Forest Schools


In Forest Schools, children are able to enjoy our lovely Forest School area, learning new techniques and ideas, exploring the outdoor learning environment, such as the mud kitchen and completing team activities. 


Children learn to safely build and make fires and use it to cook and toast marsh mallows! 



The children learn how dance has a beginning, a middle and an end, using dance to retell a story. They used the correct language, such as, stretch and feeling. 


The children complete different dance techniques to different music to create their own dance to share with their peers. 



Children learn movements and how to use apparatus safely. The children use the correct language linked to gymnastics, such as, balance, tense and relaxed. They learn the specific skills and then create their own movement to showcase to peers. 



Advent Term One- Invasion Games

In this unit of learning, children will learn how to defend a target. They will practise their throwing and catching skills and become experienced in a variety of games.
