Our current topic is Fractions.  In this unit we will be learn how to recognise, find, name and write fractions 1/3, 1/4, 2/4 and 3/4 of a length, shape, set of objects or quantity. We will also learn how to write simple fractions and recognise the equivalence of 2/4 and 1/2.

March 2022

 

Our current topic is Shape.  In this unit we will be learning about 2D shapes and their properties, lines of symmetry and 3D shapes and their properties. We will then learn how to identify 2D shapes on 3D shapes.

January/February 2022

 

Our current topic is Multiplication.  In this unit we will be focusing on recognising equal groups, adding equal groups together and recognising and using the multiplication symbol. We will then move to division and learn how to share equally and use the inverse of multiplication to divide.

Our current topic is Money.  In this unit we will be focusing on counting different amounts of money and calculating change. Practise at home using real money and playing shopkeepers to embed the skills being learnt in school.

Our current topic is Addition and Subtraction.  In this unit we will be focusing on using concrete resources to help us add two 2-digit numbers, including crossing ten.

Our first topic in Maths is place value. In this topic we will be focusing on using concrete resources to help us learn about counting and representing numbers in different ways, partitioning numbers into tens and ones, and comparing and ordering numbers.
