‘Growing in love, in the spirit of Christ, for the benefit of all’

Art and DT

We will be learning about the famous sculptor, Henry Moore, who used wood, bronze and marble to create abstract sculptures.

We will be using his work as inspiration to make our own sculptures, experimenting with different materials and comparing the pros and cons of each.

We will be investigating what is needed to make a suitable birdhouse. We will then be learning how to use woodwork skills to cut and join wood.

I hope that we will be able to use some of our creations to provide habitats for the birds in our wildlife garden!

We will be learning about the Victorian designer William Morris and looking at some examples of his work. He used printing to make wallpaper within the theme of nature.

We will then be creating foam relief blocks to make our own prints, using William's work as inspiration!
